Top 5 Things We Hope to See in the Renaissance World Tour Movie

Beyoncé keeps changing the game and making history as one of the highest-paid female performers. She is a legend in the making. When it comes to a performance, you can always count on Beyoncé to give her all. Although people were “cuffing it” to Beyoncé’s songs at the concert, the performances were not the only highlight of the Renaissance World Tour.

Yes, Beyoncé is a fantastic singer, actress and songwriter, but she is also an astute businesswoman and a marketing queen. Since the ’90s, Beyoncé has worked hard to trend-set, influence, and open doors for performers to come.

Let’s look at the top five things we hope to see in her upcoming tour movie, “Renaissance: A Film by Beyoncé.”

Number One: The Ballroom Influences

“Uncle Johnny Made My Dress That Cheap Spandex, She Looks A MESS!”
Beyoncé, “Heated”

The clicking of the fans, voguing, and extravagant ensembles—these scream ballroom. Why did Beyoncé hone in on this influence, you may ask? Beyoncé wanted to celebrate her late uncle, Johnny Knowles, who designed costumes and dresses for years of Beyoncé’s career. He had a hand in many looks for Destiny’s Child. Beyoncé loved him profoundly and wanted an album that honored his memory. Knowles was an openly gay man who loved fashion and was especially appreciated in ballroom culture. Beyoncé fans came with their folding fans clicking and any elaborate, creative outfit they could wear in honor of Uncle Johnny.

Number Two: Blue Ivy

“That My Bloodline! On the Frontlines! Ready for War! Go Blue!”
Beyoncé, introducing Blue on the Renaissance World Tour

This had to have been one of the most iconic moments on the tour, next to all the other moments. We never get to see too much of Beyoncé’s life. She is a very private person when it comes to her family. To see her eldest daughter, Blue Ivy, fully grown and wanting to pursue dance was beautiful and refreshing to any Beyoncé fan. Blue graced the stage in the choreography of her mother’s song, “My Power.” Blue Ivy’s iconic appearance was one of this tour’s biggest highlights. Blue Ivy even got to dance alongside the infamous Les Twins.

Number Three: The Silly Moments

“Are You My Cousin?” “No, I’m Yo Husband.”
Anthony Crosby-Knowles

Beyoncé is known for her unseriousness in interviews. She is very interactive with her fan base, and these interactions can be some of the most influential moments of her concerts. This is one of the reasons why she is so loved. One interaction that has been talked about and left for years was Beyoncé’s interaction with a fan. This fan told Beyoncé he was her husband and had an ID with her last name. It amused Beyoncé and became one of her many tours’ most talked about and funniest moments. This interaction found its way to TikTok, and Beyoncé herself sang his rendition of “Say My Name” at her tour stop in Charlotte.

Number Four: Practicing for the Show and the Setup

“Somebody Getting Fired!”
Beyoncé, singing about her light crew screwing up

Beyoncé is known for her perfectionism in her stage setup and performance. The setup behind the Renaissance World Tour was elaborate, creative, colorful, illusionary and just one of the most beautiful stage setups on tour. Were there any creative directors, or was the tour design all her? Hopefully, Beyoncé shares her influences for the tour and music, whether it’s a TV show, music video, or anything done in earlier years. Her theme was ballroom, so she may have gained inspiration from the HBO television show, “Pose.” “Pose” covers ballroom culture and its origin in New York in the ’80s. The show features legendary ballroom figures who influenced dance culture, even Madonna’s “Vogue.”

Number Five: The Metallic Silver

“Welcome to the Renaissance.”
Kevin Aviance,

The Renaissance World Tour was a safe space for people to express themselves and celebrate while watching the performance of a lifetime. Every Beyoncé fan came out with metallic silver. Everyone showed up in silver, whether it was boots, cowgirl hats, spandex, nails, glasses, tights, gladiator strap heels, jumpsuits, or dresses. Everyone on different social media platforms showcased their elaborate outfits. Many of these outfits went viral. If these outfits are integrated into Beyoncé’s new movie, “Renaissance: A Film by Beyoncé” (2023), it could make a big splash for fans.

It’s awe-inspiring how Beyoncé motivates her fans to come in costume and participate in her events, setting trends even when fans are unsure of the reason for the specific color or theme requests. Her last album, “Lemonade,” featured braids, afros, and all things Black and Southern. This time, she made an album about the celebration of ballroom culture and the queer community, and the signature look for this tour was metallic silver. We will probably see metallic silver in every retail store for a few years. Beyoncé’s influence is that far-reaching. But if it doesn’t appear in her movie, we may wonder, “Why silver?” for years. It’s one more reason to be excited to see what Missus Beyoncé Giselle Knowles Carter has in store in the “Renaissance” film.
