Marvel Studios took a page from The Hulk and smashed San Diego Comic-Con 2022 by not only announcing the final slate for Marvel’s Phase Four, but also by laying out the plans and release dates for Phase Five of the MCU.

Phase Five will include both movies and television shows, with 12 releases on the schedule that fans are anxiously awaiting.

So, with all of this excitement brewing, here are our rankings of Marvel’s Phase Five releases by how much fans are anticipating them.

12. “The Marvels” (July 28, 2023)

“The Marvels” is the sequel to 2019’s “Captain Marvel.” This MCU film comes after the final episode of a Marvel television series, “Ms. Marvel,” and will follow three characters who have often been outside or on the margins of the MCU, but who will now be joining it in full: Captain Marvel, Ms. Marvel and Monica Rambeau.

This film is less anticipated than the others because of the mixed reviews that “Captain Marvel” received. It seemed like fans either loved it or hated it. Regardless, they recognize the importance that “The Marvels” has for the MCU, but they aren’t expecting too much from the film.

11. “Echo” (Summer 2023)

“Echo” is going to be a Marvel television series that follows Maya Lopez through her journey as a hero. This comes after her appearance in Marvel’s “Hawkeye” television series, where she plays an antagonist. “Echo” will bring us Maya’s origin story, along with her current journeys, and may even include an appearance from Daredevil in order to tie back to Echo’s roots as a “Daredevil” side character.

Fans are excited to see the Echo character come to life in this film. However, because it is so new and she is a character that isn’t overly popular yet, there are other things in Marvel’s Phase Five that are catching the eyes of fans even more.

10. “Agatha Coven of Chaos” (Winter 2023/24)

Agatha Coven of Chaos” will be a Marvel television series that focuses on the character of Agatha Harkness. Agatha was last seen in the series “WandaVision,” where she served as the antagonist and ultimately fell to Wanda and her powers. Although Marvel has yet to release a plot for this series, it will most likely take place either after her battle with Wanda or before her life in Westview.

Fans are excited to see this series, but with the details of the plot scarce and with the lead being a side character from a previous series, fans aren’t really sure what to expect.

9. “Blade” (Nov. 3, 2023)

“Blade” is a Marvel film that focuses on the half-human, half-vampire Eric Brooks (Blade) and his journeys. Because there is no description of the plot available, fans don’t yet know what Blade will do in the movie. However, this is looking to be an exciting film, especially in light of the “Eternals” post-credit scene that featured a voiceover from Blade asking Dane Whitman if he was ready to take on his family name.

Fans are excited for this film and they have been awaiting its release since it was first announced in 2019. Because of this built-up anticipation, the film is set to have many fans flocking to see it even though it isn’t considered one of the major releases in Phase Five.

8. “Ironheart” (Fall 2023)

“Ironheart” is a Marvel television series that focuses on the character Riri Williams becoming Ironheart. In this film, the teenage inventor is set to create the most advanced suit of armor since Iron Man, who is no longer with the MCU after his death in “Avengers: Endgame.”

Fans are excited to see this series because they want to see more of Dominique Thorne, who plays Riri, and they are just happy to see a genius inventor who can fill part of the gap that was left behind with the death of Tony Stark.

7. “Thunderbolts” (July 26, 2024)

“Thunderbolts” seems to be Marvel’s attempt at a Suicide Squad. This film will follow a group of anti-heroes including Yelena Belova, Abomination, Taskmaster and more as they are recruited to go on missions for the government.

Fans are excited to see a Marvel “suicide squad” group of anti-heroes fight together and they can’t wait to see how Marvel tackles this film. Because they aren’t the blockbuster heroes, some excitement points are lost there, but overall, fans are ready to see the chaos that ensues throughout this film.

6. “Secret Invasion” (Spring 2023)

“Secret Invasion” is a Marvel television series that will focus on Nick Fury’s and Talos’ discovery of the Skrulls, a faction of shapeshifting aliens that have infiltrated Earth. There have been many subtle (and not so subtle) hints to this series in previous MCU works like “Captain Marvel” and “Spiderman: Far From Home.”

Fans are excited to finally see Nick Fury in the MCU again and are looking forward to this series because of its stellar cast, plot and its nod to the past MCU aura, before the Phase Four horror and comedy chaos ensued.

5. “Captain America: New World Order” (May 3, 2024)

Although no plot details have been revealed for this film, fans are extremely excited to see what Marvel has in store for this Captain America movie, as it is the first of the four in the franchise with Sam Wilson taking on the role of Captain America. But, of course, there are some fans that are wondering if Chris Evans might make an appearance as Steve Rodgers somehow, some way.

4. “Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania” (Feb. 17, 2023)

Fans are excited to see this film because it is finally time for the Quantum Realm to be the center of attention. In this latest Ant-Man film, Scott Lang, Hope Van Dyne, Hank Pym and Janet Van Dyne will finally explore the Quantum Realm in a seemingly unbelievable adventure that stretches far beyond what they thought was possible.

3. “Loki Season 2” (Summer 2023)

Tom Hiddleston has always had the hearts of MCU fans, and he proved that in his own Marvel television series, “Loki,” which is now the first MCU series to be renewed for a second season. This season is highly anticipated because the last season ended with the timeline and multiverse being sent into a frenzy. What kind of mischief could this god get into next?

2. “Daredevil: Born Again” (Spring 2024)

Fans are extremely excited for this show to come to Disney+ for so many reasons. For one, they will get to see Charlie Cox and Vincent D’Onofrio reprise their iconic “Daredevil” roles in this series. This series is also releasing 18 episodes, which is unprecedented for an MCU Disney+ show; the Daredevil and Kingpin rivalry will become real in the MCU after a very long wait.

1. “Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3”  (May 5, 2023)

This is the most anticipated movie in Marvel’s Phase Five and has generated the most fan excitement for many reasons. One, the “Guardians of the Galaxy” franchise overall is one of the most successful in the MCU and fans are in love with the characters. Two, this film is set after the team has lost Gamora and they have to rally together to both defend the universe and Rocket, since the villain is tied to his past. Three, because of this villain, fans are finally going to see Rocket’s backstory on screen. And lastly, fans have been waiting for this film since its original release date in May 2020. With all of this anticipation built up by the fans, this was a clear choice for number one.
