A Makeup Routine To Look Flawless in 10 Minutes or Less!

These seven products deserve a place in every busy person's daily morning routine.

As a college student, it can be difficult to keep up with everything. From classes to study groups to exams, it can all be very overwhelming. The last thing on a college student’s mind is putting on a full face of makeup before stepping out to class or work. However, whether you are just getting into makeup or are already a pro, it’s important to have a quick makeup routine that gives glam, and “I am not totally dead from life” vibes. Below is a quick routine that will have you looking fabulous and out the door in just 10 minutes or less!

Skin Care

Skin care is the most important step in preserving a flawless face throughout the day. A clean and healthy face creates a great surface on which to apply foundation and prevents any breakouts. It also helps to ensure that the face does not get too dry or oily after long wear. Start by cleansing your face with a quality cleanser. On the low end is the Neutrogena Hydro-Boost Hydrating Facial Cleaner; on the high end is the Fenty Skin Start’R. Before choosing a cleanser, be sure to take your skin type into account.

If you’re not sure what skin type you have, check out this article from WebMD, “What’s your skin type?” After cleansing, use a toner such as the Fenty Skin Fat Water toner and a moisturizer. For those looking for extra protection from the sun, Cetaphil Daily moisturizer with SPF 15 is the way to go.

Primer

This part is optional. However, I’d recommend this step if you want your makeup to last throughout the day or if you are in a humid climate. Primer helps your makeup stick to your face and prevents your foundation from moving or slipping. If you want your makeup to stay put, try the e.l.f. Power Grip primer on the low end or the Milk Hydro Grip primer on the high end. Both primers create a smooth base for a flawless face.

Concealer

In order to create a face that doesn’t say, “I’m exhausted from finals and barely making it,” one must use a good concealer under the eyes and highlight the focal points of the face. This step is a must after those sleepless nights spent studying. The Ruby Kisses HD Concealer & Foundation Flawless Full Cover Brush Face Makeup (Fawn) is an inexpensive and blendable concealer. It blends beautifully with foundation and can stand up against a high-end concealer any day of the week. Make sure to blend the edges of your concealer first before blending the middle area so your blending comes out seamless.

Foundation

For foundation, it’s best to find something quick and easy to apply. Also, consider what kind of coverage you are looking for. To obtain light to medium coverage, try the Maybelline Fit Me Matte Poreless Pressed Face Powder. This powder only takes a minute to apply, but it offers medium coverage, which is just enough to cover up hyperpigmentation areas.

For a matte finish with more coverage, try mixing this powder with Fenty foundation. These foundations together help to create a flawless, photogenic face that seems professionally done, but it only takes 10 minutes. This face can be achieved effectively by also using the next product: setting powder.

Setting Powder

If you want your face to last most of the day without getting creasing, I recommend a setting powder to set everything in place (no pun intended). Setting powder also helps to give your face a matte look. While you can choose to set or bake, we are going to set for this quick makeup look. For setting powders, try the Laura Mercier Loose setting powder in the shades, Honey or Banana. They never crease, and work great for making your makeup last all day.

Blush, Bronzer and Highlighter

By this time, your face might look a little crazy, but that’s okay! By adding blush, bronzer and highlighter, you can naturally bring your face back to life. For blush, you can either use the Milk Blush in the shade spiced rose, the Fenty Cheeks out Freestyle Cream Blush in the shade Summertime Wine or even an eyeshadow or lipstick blended out well with a beauty blender or brush.

As for bronzer, use the crème bronzer from Fenty Cheeks Out Freestyle Cream Bronzer in the shade Honey Glaze or this one from Black Radiance True Complexion Creme Color Palette. Apply the bronzer to the parts of your face that you want to add warmth to, such as your cheekbones and forehead.

For highlighter, try the Morphe highlighter from their limited Coca-Cola promotion. Apply it to the high points of your face, such as your cheekbones, the bridge of your nose and your cupid’s bow. Doing so highlights the parts of your face that would naturally be highlighted and adds that extra little bit of razzle dazzle to make it look like your makeup routine took longer than it actually did.

With these seven products and the correct skin care, you should be able to create a flawless face in 10 minutes or less. This makeup routine will have you looking put-together (even when you’re not!).
