These Rom-Coms Will Get You Warmed Up For Christmas

Nothing Better Than a Good Christmas Romantic Comedy to Celebrate the Holidays– Here Are Our Favorites!

‘Tis the season to be jolly: fa, la, la, la, la, la, la, la, la…

As the snowflakes fall and the twinkling lights illuminate the streets, there is only one other way to celebrate the happiest season of the year. Imagine yourself in your funny Christmas themed pajamas, some fluffy and comfy slippers, a nice cup of hot cocoa with a few tiny marshmallows on the top, maybe a cookie or two and, of course, a delightful Christmas rom-com. What better way to spread the magical holiday cheer than by cozying up with heartwarming Christmas romantic comedies?

We’ve curated a list of must-watch movies that will fill your heart with joy and transport you to a world of festive romance.

“Love Actually”

Kicking off our list is the timeless classic from 2003 “Love Actually.” Martin Freeman, Emma Thompson, Hugh Grant, Alan Rickman, Keira Knightley and many other stars that became huge over time are the amazing cast of the multiple love stories weaved together during Christmas time in London. From heartwarming reunions to unexpected love connections, “Love Actually” captures the true spirit of the season, reminding us that love is all around.

“The Holiday”

For a festive getaway, there is nothing better than a cliche switch-up rom-com situation. Join Cameron Diaz and Kate Winslet in 2006’s “The Holiday.” This romantic escapade follows two women who decide to swap homes for the holidays and as we all know, they unexpectedly find love in the process. This movie is filled with humor, warmth and picturesque settings, which make us fall in love with the holidays. “The Holiday” is a delightful treat for Christmas romantics.

“A Christmas Prince”

When some people picture love during Christmas time, their dream rom-com may be to find a prince to share the joys of the holidays with. And for all girls trying to become princess during this time, Netflix has just the right series of movies for you! In a royal romance, “A Christmas Prince” follows a journalist who is sent to cover a royal event in yet another fictional European country and ends up finding love with the charming prince. It’s a delightful mix of holiday enchantment and fairy tale romance.

“Holidate”

Some would say this is a Christmas favorite in the genre of rom-com, which we agree and revisit every year in December (but maybe also a couple of times throughout the year). “Holidate” is brought to life by Emma Roberts and Luke Bracey who charm us with their fake dating relationship. The story follows the progress of their romantic relationship that started only as a fake dating relationship to battle the many holidays of the year. But Christmas is that time of the year when people want to be with their one and only, and that is what their characters end up finding after many obstacles during their pretending-era.

“Falling for Christmas”

Our last pick for rom-coms you should definitely watch during this month is “Falling for Christmas”, which we were not expecting to love as much as we did. This movie was not Lindsay Lohan’s first comeback to the screen, but some would say it was the best she ever had. Her sharing the lead role with Chord Overstreet was full of holiday magic and Christmas love. They were such great leads in yet another cliche that is loved in rom-coms of a “will-they-won’t-they” type of situation. There is also the reinventing yourself factor in the movie that shows how the environment your mind forms itself in is very important for the person you are going to be.

From classic Christmas love stories to charming romantic comedies, your heart will be filled with joy and you will be full of warm and fuzzy feelings that linger long after the credits roll (or even just when you click one button to switch from movie to movie). So, grab your favorite blanket, bake some cookies, and feel the magic of Christmas with these delightful movies.
