There are many different styles of jeans: Skinny, bootcut, flare, wide-leg, straight-leg, boyfriend, mom and distressed jeans are just a few types that exist in the fashion world. Of course, there are different jeans for different occasions; you wouldn’t wear distressed jeans to a funeral, but maybe you’d wear them on a night out. When buying a pair of jeans, it’s always important to consider how much you’re going to wear them, when you’re going to wear them and if you already have a pair like them. Although jeans are an essential part of one’s wardrobe, you shouldn’t buy too many because that’s a waste of money and it’s also really detrimental to the environment. Don’t buy things you don’t need. In this article, I’ll outline a few different styles of jeans and the purposes of these styles.

Skinny Jeans

Skinny jeans can be worn to many different events. Skinny jeans are great for any age range, from kids to teenagers to adults. Skinny jeans can be worn to parties, concerts and sometimes even networking events, but most of all, skinny jeans are very convenient because they can be worn at home and at school. College students certainly stress about what they’re going to wear to class or when they’re out with friends, and skinny jeans are a perfect match for both of these social contexts. Keep in mind that while skinny jeans can be considered inappropriate in certain contexts, they can also look fancy and refined as well. Furthermore, if an individual doesn’t want to wear skinny jeans, they can opt for a simpler type of pants like leggings. Leggings are also tight around the leg and can be just as stylish as skinny jeans and are perfect for going out or going to class.

Wide-Leg Jeans

Wide-leg jeans are an interesting type of jeans. They aren’t the same as flare jeans because the entire leg part is wide, not just the ends. Wide-leg jeans are great for any casual setting like working around the house or meeting up with friends, as long as the meet-up isn’t in a fancy place. The benefit to wide-leg jeans is that they’re not tight around the leg. They’re very loose so one can move freely and won’t feel confined by the fabric constantly wrapped around the leg. Wide-leg jeans also stand out because it’s a very distinct style and a person won’t go unnoticed if they’re wearing wide-leg jeans on the streets of New York City or anywhere else.

Straight Leg Jeans

Straight-leg jeans are great because they’re sort of in between wide-leg and skinny jeans. Straight-leg jeans aren’t super wide, but they also don’t tightly wrap around the body. One could wear straight-leg jeans to any occasion. Straight-leg jeans are very comfortable and can be worn with sneakers, boots, heels, sandals, loafers, flats and other types of shoes. Also, straight-leg jeans are perfect for class because if someone is sitting at a desk for a long time, they might start to feel uncomfortable if they’re in skinny jeans. If they’re in straight-leg jeans, it can be easier to relax and focus on what’s going on in class. No one should constantly be distracted by their outfit while they’re in class. School outfits should be comfortable and stylish and should let you focus on the subject at hand.

Distressed Jeans

There’s some debate about whether or not distressed jeans, or ripped jeans, look good on people. Distressed jeans are worn at parties and can be worn to other social events. It isn’t recommended that people wear distressed jeans to a funeral or a formal event. If an individual is attending a networking event, it’s important to look very professional and business-like. Distressed jeans usually have holes and rips in them that reveal some skin and revealing too much skin in a professional setting may be looked down upon by others.

Furthermore, distressed jeans can come in a bunch of different styles. Distressed jeans can be in the form of skinny jeans or straight-leg jeans. A very common distressed jean style is one where the jeans are straight-leg and there’s also cuffing at bottom of the leg. This type of style is very casual and people like it because it’s comfortable, casual and loose. Distressed capri jeans are perfect for cooler summer weather and certainly fall weather.

Regardless of what types of jeans people own, it’s important to have jeans that fit right and that fit your style. Luckily, there are many different types of styles that look good, so there’s no pressure on anyone when it comes to the type of jeans to buy. Everyone should have the right to choose what they want to wear, and everyone should feel good in the clothing and outfits that they choose. Wearing clothes that make you feel good, not harming the environment and not wasting money is a perfect way to approach buying and wearing jeans. Jeans are a great invention because this garment can be dressed up or down and can really be worn in any setting, though the setting must be appropriate. Jeans are a timeless piece of clothing that will continue to be worn by human beings around the globe.
