Everything Coming to Netflix in January 2019

With 2018 coming to a quick end, Netflix is adding more original films and TV shows to their streaming options, so you’ll be occupied throughout the month of January. In fact, catching up on Netflix originals might be your New Year’s resolution.

“Series of Unfortunate Events” Season 3 – Jan. 1

Starring Count Olaf (Neil Patrick Harris) Lemony Snicket (Patrick Warburton) and Violet Baudelaire (Melina Wessman), this show is a television drama based on books of the same name.

Like the books and the movie, the series follows the Baudelaire children they embark on a journey to find their relatives who will take them in, all while avoiding their psychopathic uncle Count Olaf.

“Hell or High Water” – Jan. 1

Two brothers commit a series of robberies to save their family ranch. Staring Chris Pine, Ben Foster, Jeff Bridges and Gil Birmingham, this neo-Western movie will keep you wanting more action. The movie keeps its Western roots, but is still appealing in the modern era.

“Indiana Jones: The Complete Adventure Collection” – Jan. 1

The Indiana Jones movies will finally come to Netflix. This resourceful archaeologist (Harrison Ford) made archaeology a lot more exciting than it actually is.

Jones’ four movies will come to Netflix at the beginning of January including “Kingdom of the Crystal Skull” (1981), “The Last Crusade” (1984), “The Raiders of the Lost Arc” (1989) and The Temple of Doom (2008). Finally, you’ll be able to watch Indie’s adventures in one sitting.

“COMEDIANS of the World” – Jan. 1

If you are bored watching the comedians currently featured on Netflix, then this show is definitely for you.

This is a comedy series that will feature comedians from 13 regions bringing their audiences in on what’s funny in their worlds. It is a diverse taste of what is to come.

“Tidying up with Marie Kondo” – Jan. 1

If you need organizing tips, then Marie Kondo will come in and help you organize your shelves.

Kondo will introduce the “KonMari Method” where you gather all of your belongings, one category at a time, then keeping only things that “spark joy” and find a place for the things you like. Spring cleaning will be much easier with Ms. Kondo.

“Monty Python and the Holy Grail” – Jan. 2

“Monty Python” fans are ecstatic that this film is coming to Netflix. Join King Arthur and his knights of the Round Table as they meet the Knights of Ni and find themselves humorous situations.

“Solo: A Star Wars Story” – Jan. 9

Han Solo’s story was one of the untouched topics of “Star Wars.” If you want to know how he became the smuggler he is now, then keep a sharp eye out for this movie.

“Hail, Caesar!” star Alden Ehrenreich plays the titular character, as Solo narrowly avoids danger through his quick wit and handiness.

“Hotel Transylvania 3 Summer Vacation” – Jan. 24

The third installment of the “Hotel Transylvania” franchise by Genndy Tartakovsky will make its official appearance near the end of January.

Adam Sandler, Selena Gomez and various other celebrities voice characters in this monster vacation, so it’s definitely worth a watch.

“Z Nation” Season 5 – Jan. 27

The fifth season of “Z Nation” will be added to Netflix. In a post-apocalyptic world where zombies have killed most humans, hope is scarce.

But soon the surviving team finds out that Alvin Murphy, who survives the zombie bite, contains antibodies that protects him against the disease. Murphy holds the key to a vaccine, and they must travel cross country to get the cure. Season 5 could be just the conclusion fans have been searching for.

“Gabriel ‘Fluffy’ Iglesias: One Show Fits All” – Jan. 29

This famous comedian releases yet another special. This will be the second Netflix produced comedy special for the Hispanic comedian. The first special was released in 2016, titled “I Am Sorry for What I Said When I Was Hungry.”

“Ant-man and Wasp” – Jan. 29

The sequel to “Ant-Man” will make way onto Netflix. Scott Lang (Paul Rudd) attempts to balance being a superhero and a father. He gets a new mission where he has to work with Wasp to uncover the truths behind their past.

Hope Van Dyne (Evangeline Lilly) will showcase their teamwork and humor. Even though it came out just after “Infinity War,” this movie was still praised for its humor as well as Rudd’s and Lilly’s performances.

“The Incredibles 2” – Jan. 30

If you missed “The Incredibles 2,” then you can watch it from the comfort of your own home and watch this super family family fight crime and learn how to get along. It’s a sequel you definitely don’t want to miss out on!

These films and TV shows will provide more than enough entertainment to last you through January, so get comfortable!
