On This Episode Of Vogue’s 73 Questions: Kim Kardashian And Kayne West

Keeping up with the Kardashian-West family in 11 minutes

Since its first issue in 1892, the lifestyle and fashion magazine Vogue has been publishing, promoting and praising all things beauty, culture and runway. More recently, the magazine started a video series on YouTube known as “73 Questions,”where celebrities are asked a series of personality questions in rapid-fire fashion.

The idea for the series came about five years ago, when Joe Sabia, a digital artist, director and editor based in New York City, received a call from Condé Nast Entertainment. “What would you do with Sex and the City actress Sarah Jessica Parker if you had four hours?” they asked Sabia. The question prompted Sabia to develop an idea: “a totally crazy barrage of personality-quiz questions in an artistic one-take execution.” And the rest is history.

Since it’s launch, Vogue’s YouTube series has skyrocketed to fame. What separates “73 Questions” from other interviews and talk-shows is the series’ ability to capture and condense such interesting material in so little time. Viewers can listen to the deepest secrets and most personal stories of their favorite celebrities all in under a few minutes.

Kim Kardashian and her rap-mogul husband Kanye West were the latest celebrity pair to be interviewed. Their video, titled “73 Questions With Kim Kardashian West (ft. Kanye West)” has accumulated over 27 million views in just under two weeks, and gives a sneak-peak into the couple’s home life and relationship with their three children: North, Saint and Chicago.

At this point, you might wondering whether it’s in your best interest to watch the video. Do Kim and Kayne have anything to say that you actually want to hear? Well maybe. It can’t hurt to listen to what this mother and businesswoman has to say. And if she truly decides to go forward with her law career, you might want to hire her as your lawyer.

Whether you decide to watch it or not, here are some key takeaways of Kim and Kayne’s “73 Questions” video.

1. The Kardashian-West Palace

As the video pans to reveal the inside of the family’s mansion, viewers might expect to see bright colors and shiny fixtures, but the home is filled with neutral colors, cozy furnishings and an unbleached Steinway piano, which Kim played before she departed from the musical hobby. As big and open as it is, the 60 million dollar mansion feels welcoming and cozy, even with its high ceilings and massive windows.

While the family’s lavish lifestyle shines through their clothes, cars, Kanye’s music and Kim’s beauty and fragrance lines, it is toned down behind closed doors. Their decorations are subtle enough not to overwhelm guests, and simple enough to allow for easy alterations for parties and gatherings. In addition, the minimal décor allows the married couple to focus on spending time with their family and raising their children.

2. Unconditional Love For Her Children

North, Saint and Chicago’s parents do not shy away from broadcasting their love and admiration for their family in video. Although all of their children are unique in their own way, Kim and Kayne are sure to give equal shine to each of the three kiddos.

During one point in the video, while the female media personality answers questions, her kids and husband lay stretched out on their all-white bed. The 74th questions should be: How does your bed stay so white and clean, free from snack stains and juice spills? Or maybe this was just staged for the video. Regardless, the kids seem comfortable, well behaved and loved.

3. Admiration For Her Mother’s Career

When the well-known socialite was asked “Whose career do you respect and admire?” she didn’t even think twice about her answer: her mother, Kris Jenner. Kim goes on to share that when her mother was 50 years old, she wasn’t sure how she was going to financially support all of her children. But since then, Kris Jenner has built an absolute empire, consisting of her production company, Jenner Communications, a fashion boutique, an autobiography and the hit series “Keeping Up with the Kardashians.”

4. The Fourth Arrival

The video suggests that the fourth addition to the Kardashian-West clan could very well be a baby boy. Their son Saint hopes that his baby brother will be named Saint as well. North, the oldest girl, feels that because Saint is the lone brother in the household,  another boy would give her brother a sidekick to play with, claiming “I wanna play with Chicago, that’s why.”  Despite the fact that the baby’s room is unfinished, Kayne’s smile as he holds Chicago suggests that he’s happy to expand his family.

Thanks to Sabia’s creation of Vogue’s “73 Questions,” fans can further “keep up” with the Kardashian-West family, among other stars.
